Sat Aug 8: Warren Murfitt
and Friends too!
Hey y’all,
I am extra pleased to welcome fellow Murfitt, my uncle, Warren Murfitt, back to the Landing!! (He’s the one I voluntold to build the stage with me).
Despite being my uncle, he is a talented songsmith, musician and luthier!!
His partner and bandmate is on the other side of the country this summer, so he’s organized a gaggle of pals to back him up and come play and party which means it’s going to be a full back yard shin dig.
His music is based on the musical styles of country, bluegrass and western swing. He sings songs of trains, mountains, heartbreak, love, and whiskey. What else is there to sing about???
He co-fronts his band Murfitt and Main with Kate Main, touring across Canada regularly.
Long time members of the Western Canadian music scene, they have performed in local and US music festivals, including the Vancouver Folk Festival, Harmony Arts, Coombs Festival, Cowichan Bluegrass Festival, and many more. Together they’ve recorded four cd’s.
